Gouchen Occupies the Right Position

Original Text

Interpretation

The Earth of Wuxu and Jihai belongs to the center, which is called the position of Gouchen, meaning being in power. For example, in the cases of Wuyin, Wuchen, Wuzhi, Wushen, Yimao, Jihai, and Jivei, there are wealth, official positions, and seals under the Heavenly Stems. If one's body (a concept in traditional Chinese fortune - telling, referring to the strength of the日主) is strong and the official element is in a favorable time, the person will be noble; if the wealth element is in a favorable time, the person will be rich. It is better not to have the appearance of the Hurting Officer and Rob Wealth elements. It is taboo to have clashes and punishments. If the killing element is strong, it will bring disasters, and the same principle applies to the annual and monthly cycles.

The poem goes:

When the Earthly Branches Wu and Ji (associated with the Earthly Deity Chen) are in the prosperous position, the Palaces of Yin and Mao are considered the most powerful. If it is further located in Chen, Mao, or Wei, meeting with Hai and Zi will bring great good fortune and prosperity.

Moreover:

When the Heavenly Stems Wu and Ji sit on the positions of wealth and official rank, it is called "the Earthly Fiend in a favorable position". It indicates that one will have great wealth and enjoy good fortune. If this appears in one's birth chart, they are likely to hold a high - ranking position in the court.
