合禄格：
己酉 辛未 癸未 庚申
庚午 己巳 戊辰 丁卯 丙寅 乙丑
俗亦名之为合禄格，以申合巳中戊土为官星也。月令偏官，年上透出，时上庚印化煞为用（见论偏官篇），格正局清，有何不美？若取巳中戊土官星，岂非官煞混杂耶？
从财格：
庚申 乙酉 丙申 己丑
丙戌 丁亥 戊子 己丑 庚寅 辛卯
乙从庚化，不作印论，丙火临申，坐于病地，四柱无根，时上己丑又来生金，气势偏于金旺，为弃命从财格也。运宜行土金水，南方火乡最忌，木亦不利。
从煞格：
乙酉 乙酉 乙酉 甲申
甲申 癸未 壬午 辛巳 庚辰 己卯
乙木无根，气势偏于金，为弃命从煞格。金运最美，水土亦吉。木运为乙木逢根，火运逆其旺势，皆忌见。与上从财格大致相同。
井栏叉格：
戊子 庚申 庚申 庚辰
辛酉 壬戌 癸亥 甲子 乙丑 丙寅
此俗所谓井栏叉格。庚金乘旺泄秀，支全申子辰水局。气势偏于金水，当顺其势以取运。土金水运均美，木运亦可，行火运逆其旺势不利。
遥合格：
辛丑 辛丑 辛丑 庚寅
庚子 己亥 戊戌 丁酉 丙申 乙未
此俗所谓丑遥巳格。土金成局，生于十二月，时上寅木无气，不能为用。势象偏于土金，宜土金水运，木火逆其旺势为不宜。与遥巳格取运相同也。
丑遥巳禄格（又名刑合）：
乙未 癸卯 癸卯 甲寅
壬寅 辛丑 庚子 己亥 戊戌 丁酉
《喜忌篇》云，"癸日进逢寅位，岁月怕戊已二方"，以寅刑出巳中戊土为格，其实乃从儿格也。气势偏于木，行运最喜木火。从格忌见比劫，而从儿有食伤引化，不忌比劫，此为不同之点。官煞大忌，印运亦忌。
子遥巳禄格（又名遥合格）：
甲申 甲戌 甲子 甲子
乙亥 丙子 丁丑 戊寅 己卯 庚辰
《喜忌篇》云，"甲子日再遇子时，畏庚辛申酉丑午，以子遥合巳为格"，其实月令偏财，用财损印，何必另取格局？戌藏丁火，生起财星，遇运透清为美，庚辛申酉官煞生印为忌，午冲子、丑刑戌均为忌也。
Interpretation
The combination of fortune and official position pattern:
Jiyou, Xinwei, Guiwei, Gengshen
Gengwu, Jisi, Wuchen, Dingmao, Bingyin, Yichou
In common parlance, it is also known as the Helu Pattern because the Earthly Branch Shen combines with the Earthly Branch Si, and the Earth element in Si serves as the official star. With the partial official star in the monthly order and it being revealed in the year column, and the Geng metal in the hour column serving as the seal to transform the malevolent qi of the partial official star for use (as discussed in the section on partial official stars), the pattern is proper and the situation is clear. What could be wrong with it? If one were to take the Earth element in Si as the official star, wouldn't that lead to a mix of official and partial official stars?
The pattern of following wealth.
Gengshen, Yiyou, Bingshen, Jichou
Bingxu, Dinghai, Wuzhi, Jichou, Gengyin, Xinmao
When the yin element (B) combines with the yang element (Geng), it is not regarded as the "seal" in the traditional theory. The yang fire element (Bing) is in the "Shen" position, which is the "sick" state. There is no root for it in the four pillars. Moreover, the "Jichou" at the hour pillar generates the metal element, making the momentum inclined towards the dominance of the metal element. This forms a pattern of "abandoning one's own element and following the wealth element". The favorable luck periods are those with the earth, metal, and water elements. The southern region representing the fire element should be most avoided, and the wood element is also unfavorable.
Under the control of the "killing" pattern:
Year of Yiyou, Year of Yiyou, Year of Yiyou, Year of Jiashen
Jiashen, Guiwei, Renwu, Xinsi, Gengchen, Jimao
When the Yi Wood has no roots and the momentum leans towards Metal, it forms the pattern of Renouncing One's Own Life and Following the Killing Element. The Metal fortune is the most favorable, and the Water and Earth fortunes are also auspicious. In the Wood fortune, the Yi Wood meets its roots, and in the Fire fortune, it goes against the prosperous momentum. Both are to be avoided. It is roughly the same as the above pattern of Following the Wealth Element.
The cross - grid of the well curb:
Wuwu, Gengshen, Gengshen, Gengchen
Xinyou, Renxu, Guihai, Jiazi, Yichou, Bingyin
This is what is commonly known as the well - railing cross pattern. In this pattern, the element of Geng Metal is in a prosperous state and shows its excellent qualities. The earthly branches form a complete water combination of Shen, Zi, and Chen. The overall momentum is inclined towards the elements of Metal and Water. One should follow this momentum when considering the fortune - changing cycles. Cycles related to Earth, Metal, and Water are all favorable. The cycle of Wood is also acceptable. However, the cycle of Fire goes against the prosperous momentum and is unfavorable.
Remotely meet the criteria.
Xinchou, Xinchou, Xinchou, Gengyin
Gengzi, Jihai, Wuxu, Dingyou, Bingshen, Yiwèi
This is what is commonly known as the pattern of "ugly (Chou) remotely connecting with si". Earth and metal form a combination. Being born in the twelfth lunar month, the Yin - wood in the hour pillar has no vital energy and cannot be utilized. The overall situation leans towards earth and metal. Earth, metal, and water fortunes are favorable, while wood and fire go against the prosperous trend and are unfavorable. It is the same as the pattern of remotely connecting with si in terms of fortune - seeking.
The pattern of the ugly sign remotely attracting the good fortune of the si sign (also known as the pattern of punishment and combination):
Year B-wei, Month G-ui, Day G-ui, Hour J-jiyin
Renyin, Xinchou, Gengzi, Jihai, Wuxu, Dingyou
The "Xiji Pian" states, "When a Gui day meets the Yin position, the years and months should avoid the Wu and Ji directions." It takes the Earth element (Wu) in the Si position, which is brought out by the punishment relationship with Yin, as the pattern. In fact, it is the "Following the Offspring Pattern." The qi and momentum are inclined towards Wood. In the fortune - moving phase, Wood and Fire are most preferred. The following pattern generally avoids the appearance of the same element (as the day stem, i.e., Bi - Jie), but in the "Following the Offspring Pattern," with the transformation by the Eating God and Hurting Officer, it doesn't avoid Bi - Jie. This is the difference. The Officer and Seven Killers are highly taboo, and the fortune of the Seal is also taboo.
The pattern of "Zi remotely connecting to the salary of Si" (also known as the pattern of remote connection and matching):

The "Chapter on Preferences and Aversions" states, "For those born on a Jiazi day and also at the Zishi hour, they should be wary of Geng, Xin, Shen, You, Chou, and Wu. It takes the pattern of Zi distantly combining with Si." In fact, when the monthly branch contains the indirect wealth, using wealth to damage the seal, there's no need to adopt another pattern. Xu hides the Ding fire, which can generate the wealth star. It's excellent when the wealth star is clearly revealed in the luck cycle. Geng, Xin, Shen, and You, which represent official and killing elements that generate the seal, are unfavorable. Wu clashing with Zi and Chou punishing Xu are also unfavorable.
