Longevity and premature death
After we understand the basic theories of fortune - telling, we will help friends analyze their birth - dates. Well, the guests may not be of a certain age, status, or they may not order a certain type of service. It's not up to me! It depends on what kind of service the outside guests order, and then I'll provide the corresponding one!
The same goes for fortune - telling. Before talking about glory, wealth and honor, I wonder if you have ever thought of a question. All these are based on having a long - lived and prosperous life! If one can't even achieve a little success, what kind of good fortune can there be? We call it an ill - fated situation! Adults who come for fortune - telling, of course, don't need to worry about this. Especially when it comes to a newborn baby, perhaps the parents just come to me to choose a name for the child, or they come to me to pick a date for a caesarean section before the baby is born. According to common sense, I won't casually assume that the child will have glory, wealth and honor. Such cases are very rare. There may not be even one in a hundred, or maybe only two or three in a thousand. I always think about the worst - case scenario. Good things may not happen, but bad things should be avoided. Even if you can foresee something bad, you can't say it out. How can you tell a parent that their child won't live past fifteen? But when we help them choose a date for a caesarean section, we need to pay special attention to this. Now, I'll give two examples to make it easier to understand. This has nothing to do with the concepts of wealth, killing, eating, injury and seal in fortune - telling. The other part is about the relationship between husband and wife, the wife, and the affairs in one's later years.
The "Chong Tian Sha" is mentioned in *San Ming Tong Hui*, which is a very famous book. Well, there are two poems about it. Let me read them to you first: "Those born at the opposite time of their birth date will have a short life." Now, I hope you understand what it means. And you can start to practice reading the original text. My works are just for beginners. In the end, you still have to read the original text. Here, "dui" means "chong" (opposition). "Those born at the opposite time of their birth date will have a short life" means there is an opposition between the day and the hour. So, you can make use of this knowledge. You should memorize the six oppositions. There are many cases of "birth date opposite to the birth time". For example, if you were born at noon on a certain day, then there is an opposition between "zi" (midnight) and "wu" (noon). Just this one sentence is not enough! "If the birth year is opposite to the birth month, it is also harmful." That is to say, when there is an opposition between the year and the month, and also between the day and the hour, this constitutes the "Chong Tian Sha". If there is only a "zi - wu" opposition in the year, generally speaking, it only means that you will encounter many troubles before the age of thirty.
If you simply have the clash between Mao and You (two of the twelve Earthly Branches in Chinese astrology) occurring between the day and the hour, it can only be interpreted as meaning that you will have a lot of trivial matters from the age of thirty until old age. This is actually quite common. If you see two such combinations together, for example, we know that this year is the Xinmao year, and there is a clash between Mao and You in August. Then in August, you must not let there be a clash between the day and the hour. The chance of this happening is not high! Once it happens, one may die at a young age! He didn't say at what age!
So, if you can't memorize the clashes, punishments, combinations, and conjunctions, how can you analyze this? Therefore, I suggest that you all memorize the six clashes thoroughly. So, when we look at a child's birth chart and don't say anything, what should we do? According to the folk customs in Taiwan, I recommend having the Tai Sui ritual performed every year. Moreover, I tell them to go to a temple near their home that has been around for over a hundred years. I'm afraid they'll be deceived. There won't be any problems with a century - old temple. So, this point is especially important for caesarean section cases.
For example, now it's said to be August, and it's already passed. If there is a clash between the day and the hour in August, then this situation occurs. So, will one definitely die? I also need to explain this to you all. I've seen with my own eyes a person with a clash between the year - month and the day - hour. He is my student, and he didn't die. However, since he was a child during the Japanese war era, his mother's first husband died in battle. She then remarried a second husband with three children. So, his three brothers have different surnames. The eldest brother has the surname Li, the third brother has the surname Wang, and the fifth brother has the surname Zhou. Although this is his private matter, you can imagine how his childhood was. Unless you encounter extremely unexpected experiences, such as having polio or other various things that ordinary people don't encounter, then you can avoid it! Well, this is a bit better than death. This is the first point.
Everyone should remember, especially regarding helping others choose a date for a cesarean section. So I often advise those who understand the study of names to have some basic knowledge of the Four Pillars of Destiny. I once knew a civil servant who was a section chief. He knew a bit about the study of names and helped others name their children. However, he was also careless about how to address the children. Within less than a year, the child passed away. Because he didn't understand this point. Although the strokes in the study of names indicate a good fate, whether one can actually have such a fate is a question! Whether one can live to enjoy it is also a question! Just like in fortune - telling, having the right wealth in the hour pillar means one will surely be wealthy, but whether one can live to experience it has nothing to do with this! So everyone should pay attention to this sentence!
Second, it still talks about clashes and punishments. It's really lamentable when the birth time corresponds to the birth date. Just like the previous one, so when we create horoscopes, we should try our best to avoid double clashes between the day and the hour! Even if it doesn't lead to an early death, there will be many problems in old age! Even if one is wealthy, it's not a good thing. It's also sad when the birth hour corresponds to the birth year. This situation is more serious than the previous one. For example, when the birth time corresponds to the birth date, it happens every day! For instance, if today is the Zi day and you were born at the Wu hour, then there is a clash between Zi and Wu. If today is the Mao day and you were born at the You hour, then there is a clash between Mao and You. There are day-hour clashes every day, with a probability of one-sixth or one-twelfth! As for the situation where the birth year corresponds to the birth hour, for those born in the Xinmao year, in this Mao year, there is a clash between Mao and You, so they should avoid the You hour.
Well, if we discuss these two groups separately, there won't be much of a problem! For those born at the Mao hour on the You day, there will be a clash in their later years. Then, there is a clash between the You year and the Mao hour. The clash between the year and the hour is so far - apart that it usually doesn't matter. However, if they are connected, that is, for those born in the Mao year at the You hour this year, they must not choose a day that also causes a clash. That is, they should not choose the Mao day! I'll repeat it again. This year is the Mao year. If someone is born at the You hour, there is a clash between the year and the hour. If they are also born on the Mao day, there is a Mao - You clash, which means a clash between the day and the hour. When these two clashes combine, it's not just a matter of good fortune. It may even affect the child's upbringing! So, before talking about glory, wealth and honor, we should first talk about the childhood.
So we often advise people on how to pacify the Grand Duke of Jupiter. We've repeatedly emphasized that children under seven years old must pacify the Grand Duke of Jupiter. Well, there's a saying, "How can one bear to be in the same year as the birthplace? Those who are amorous at sixteen won't live long." How old is "sixteen" in this context? It's sixteen years old! To be amorous, one's family has to be wealthy!
Then it means these two groups. There are many types of premature deaths. These two groups are the easiest for everyone to understand, and as long as there are clashes among the Earthly Branches, so I'll first explain these two groups of premature deaths to everyone.
Take a look. I believe you can't tell all about one's wife, wealth, children, fortune, and longevity. Well, in this case, you can tell whether there are clashes, like the clash between Zi (Rat) and Wu (Horse), or the clash between Mao (Rabbit) and You (Rooster). Not to mention we fortune-tellers, even ordinary people probably know about these six clashes. This can only be understood intuitively and shouldn't be told to others. This also applies to doing business. When negotiating a deal, you should avoid such situations. If there is a clash between the year and the month, or between the day and the hour, you definitely won't succeed in the negotiation! This scope can be extended to other areas.
Only these two types of Tianqiao (a term related to fate in traditional Chinese culture, might not have an exact English equivalent) will be discussed here. In fact, there are more than two types. In *Sanmingtonghui* (a classic book on Chinese fortune - telling), it is described in more detail. I have also given some examples, but these examples are purely theoretical. Because the two characters "Tian Shou" (premature death), whether in theory or practice, are topics that people tend to avoid. Some people even don't mention them at all for fear of making others uncomfortable, as if it were immoral! So, based on real - life examples:
Tian Shou is divided into two types. One type of Tian Shou is natural death, that is, death due to illness. Therefore, the examples I provided are for beginners. Only the cases of clash and punishment are mentioned, which are easy to understand at a glance. Apart from clash and punishment, there are other rules regarding Tian Shou. The so - called standard for Tian Shou is set at the age of 28. If a person lives past 28, even if the situation is not ideal, it cannot be considered as Tian Shou! In terms of academic theory, there are three situations that can affect a person's life and physical health:
The first one is the clash and punishment among the year, month, and day pillars. For example, those with the year pillar of Jiazichun and the month pillar of Gengwuyue, which are in a clashing relationship, have very little fortune. This first type is relatively easy to understand. The second one requires a certain foundation in academic theory. That is, when the Day Master is too strong. For instance, in a Bazi (Eight Characters in Chinese fortune - telling), when there are all the elements of Bijie (peer), Jiecai (rob wealth), Lu (Yang blade), Ren (positive seal), and when Bijie and Jiecai appear in the Heavenly Stems, and there is Yang blade in the Earthly Branches, and Jianlu (a special configuration) along with a positive seal. For example, for a Jia Day Master, if there are Yin and Mao in the Earthly Branches, and both Jia and Yi (Bijie) appear in the Heavenly Stems, and there is also a positive seal, and the birth time is Zishi, with all five elements of Bijie, Jiecai, Lu, Ren, and Yin present, it indicates sudden death. We call it a "fierce end", that is, sudden death. This kind of sudden death due to excessive strength of the body refers to death from illness, not accidental death. Accidental death will be discussed separately.
The second type is when the Day Master is extremely weak, meaning the Day Master has no roots. For example, if the Day Master is Jia, and there is no Jia among the hidden Heavenly Stems in the four Earthly Branches. Well, it's not uncommon to have a Bazi (Eight Characters) where the Day Master has no roots in the Four Pillars. However, it doesn't necessarily mean the person will die. But there are two other conditions to avoid. When the Day Master has no roots, it cannot have the Wealth and Killing Stars in command. Now, let me give you a specific Bazi for you to understand. For instance, if the Day Master is Ren, and there is neither Ren nor Gui among the hidden Heavenly Stems in the Earthly Branches, then the person's body is already very weak and simply cannot support the Wealth and Official Stars. And if this person is born in the Wu month, this means the Wealth Star is in command. Why do I specifically mention the Wu month? It is determined by the time frame of the Four Pillars. If the person is born in the Wu year, it's before the age of fifteen; if born in the Wu month, it's before the age of thirty. What about being born on a Wu day or at a Wu hour? The principle remains the same! However, we still need to check whether the Wealth Star is in command in the month. This is quite easy to tell. As for whether one will tell the client about this, I don't think so, for fear that the client will be very sad upon hearing it.
Apart from the Wealth being in command, there is also the Killing being in command. When the Seven Killings are in command, one is the element that restrains the Day Master, and the other is the element that the Day Master restrains. Since the Day Master has no root, you can't withstand either of them. For example, if the Day Master is Jia, and there is absolutely no root of the Heavenly Stems hidden in the Branches, and the person is born in the Shen month, the strong metal cuts down the wood, and you'll be chopped down at once. This is the second group. Theoretically speaking, it will lead to an early death!
The third type is the first one being the chained triple punishment. If the Bazi (Eight Characters, a traditional Chinese astrological system) already has Yin, Si, and Shen, and the major luck cycle has Yin while the current year has Shen, this is the chained triple punishment. The Bazi has Yin, Si, and Shen, and so do the major luck cycle and the current year. Or if the Bazi has Chou, Xu, and Wei, and the current year also encounters Chou, Xu, and Wei, this is called an unlucky end. However, it's just that the current year happens to match. If you die young, it's not that you're fated to die young, but rather that the current year coincides with it. This is called the chained triple punishment. This is about premature death, which is considered normal in terms of getting sick. When we talk about people getting sick and dying, we usually think it might take ten or eight days, but in fact, it's not necessarily so. One can pass away within a few hours. So the ancients said that there is no distinction of age on the road to the underworld. This premature death refers to getting sick, and the same principle applies both in ancient and modern times.
What about the other kind of premature death? It's relatively rare nowadays but was more common in ancient times, and the ways were different. It's called accidental premature death! Well, there were many new names for accidental premature death during the Qing Dynasty. For example, there was the "Well - Falling Misfortune". When a child fell into a well when they were young, this doesn't happen nowadays. In the past, mothers would take their children to the well to wash clothes and vegetables. Accidentally, the child would fall in, and this was accidental premature death, called the "Well - Falling Misfortune". It wasn't just this kind of situation. Wolves, tigers, and lions could carry away your children. These were all accidental events. There were also cases like children disappearing, getting lost, or going astray. At that time, there were no ID cards or fingerprints. Where could you go to inquire? There was nowhere to ask, so for them, it was as if the child was gone.
Well, taking the present situation as an example, there are still such things, but fewer. What is it called? Traffic accidents! Well, this is an accident. Deaths from accidents are related to inauspicious signs. In fortune - telling, there are two things that are not openly discussed. Firstly, it's the special kind of death from accidental traffic accidents. Maybe they will talk about deaths from illnesses. The other thing not to be discussed is the "Doomed - to - Fail Youthhood Omen", which refers to those who start living a dissipated life at a young age and achieve nothing even when they get old. These two things are considered inappropriate to talk about in the field of fortune - telling.
So, regarding accidental deaths or deaths due to illness, there is also a situation that includes both adults and children. That is, someone asked me, what about a plane crash! Whether you're an adult or a child, you'll all perish together. Could it be that the eight - character birth charts of so many people all simultaneously incur the three - punishments? Are they all in the situation of "the Officer Star being confronted by the Hurting Officer"? It's impossible! Hundreds of people on a plane die when it crashes into a mountain, or thousands of people perish in a single tsunami. Deaths caused by such fateful disasters are not within the scope of fortune - telling. There is another kind of cycle that is more powerful than our knowledge of fate. For example, when there is a power outage, it's not a problem with my family! It's not that the light bulb is broken. We can only deal with a broken light bulb, not a power outage! So, in the case of natural disasters or deaths due to illness, we can still advise people to do some good deeds, especially for those who have been ill since childhood. However, accidental deaths are very difficult to prevent!
So, in terms of premature death, among all the formulas in fortune - telling, it belongs to the rarest category. We call it "guansha". If such a situation is encountered, what is mentioned in San Ming Tong Hui is relatively reliable, that is, there are double conflicts between the year and the day, and double conflicts between the day and the hour. Usually, it is about the conflicts and punishments among the earthly branches. As for the situation in the fleeting years, not everyone can tell. There should be the so - called "three punishments". The causes of accidental death are different between ancient and modern times. Nowadays, one may get killed while driving a car, or may not notice someone when reversing the car and hit that person. Due to the differences in times, we can't use fortune - telling in this regard, but can only calculate "karma", the past karma. There is no consideration of the fleeting month for premature death! Only the year is considered! The so - called "karma" is related to cause and effect. For example, if a person gives birth to several children but none of them can grow up, this is a problem of collective karma.
So, regarding the aspect of "heaven", let me add just this little bit!
