Seven Murders

This section is about the Seven Killings. For male lives, the Seven Killings and the Proper Officer are discussed separately, while for female lives, they are discussed together. For male lives, the truly good fates are most likely to occur in the Seven Killings pattern and the Wealth pattern. However, there will also be a bit more gossip. The Seven Killings pattern and the Proper Officer seem similar in that those that restrain me are considered Officers and Killings, but their characteristics are completely different. The problem lies in the fact that yang restrains yang and yin restrains yin. For example, if a male teacher goes to a girls' school to teach, as all the students are girls, he will be more polite. If a male teacher goes to a boys' school to teach, he will be stricter, and unconsciously, such problems will arise. Therefore, the Seven Killings pattern inherently brings about gossip. Anyone with the Seven Killings pattern will have their own share of gossip and have relatively higher requirements. In fact, it can even be said that the Seven Killings represent gossip.

A person with good fortune doesn't necessarily have to deal with right and wrong, and those involved in right and wrong don't necessarily have good fortune. There are some unwritten rules in fortune - telling. Both "Hurting Officer" and "Seven Kills" are interpreted as villains, which is quite cumbersome. For a person with the "Seven Kills" pattern, for a male, he likes to meddle in other people's affairs. When he sees something he doesn't like, he'll stand up for the underdog. For a female, she likes men she admires. Of course, it's best if they're wealthy. Now, the "Seven Kills" itself implies the meaning of a villain. Since the "Seven Kills" seems quite powerful, there must be something to subdue it. In the "Regular Officer" pattern, "Hurting Officer" is not wanted. On the contrary, in the "Seven Kills" pattern, it must be subdued. It should be subdued by "Eating God". If a person with the "Seven Kills" pattern doesn't have "Eating God", they'll go too far. They'll meddle in other people's affairs excessively. So, if the "Seven Kills" isn't subdued by "Eating God", we call it "Seven Kills without Subduing". Such a person has no self - restraint and just acts recklessly. If there is "Eating God" to subdue it, there'll be softness within the toughness. Therefore, the "Seven Kills" must be subdued by "Eating God".

Allocated within the four pillars' time limits, the interpretation method is different from that of wealth and official positions. Having a proper official and a proper seal in the year pillar indicates a good fortune. The book says that having a killing in the year pillar brings misfortune in the early years. One is either born into a poor family or has a bad relationship with their family. Therefore, whenever one sees someone with a killing in the year stem, it's not just about whether they are poor or not. Even if they are from a poor family, they may not be able to be content. They are very troublesome in their childhood. Fortune - tellers are most afraid of a killing in the year pillar. If you come across someone with a killing in the year pillar, they usually have to rely entirely on themselves and are daring to take risks. Having a peer - rival in the year pillar only means the family has no money, while having a killing in the year pillar is not about money but about being restless. Even if they have money, they may still not get along well with their family. So, it is said that having a killing in the year pillar brings misfortune in the early years.

If there is the Seven Kills in the month pillar, one will be very prone to causing trouble in their teens. For example, we say that having the Direct Officer in both the year and month pillars is a good thing, and having the Direct Wealth in both the year and month pillars is also a good thing. The only issue is just whether there is more or less money; in general, it's still a good thing. If there is the Seven Kills in both the year and month pillars, this person is a frivolous and trouble - making one. They cause trouble from a young age. So, having the Seven Kills pattern in the year and month pillars brings no good at all. However, from an overall perspective, those who cause trouble when they are young actually have the greatest chance of success in the future. The key lies in whether the configurations are good or not. Fortune - telling is not just about your past. As the saying goes, "A hero's past is not to be judged, and a good man's humble origin is not to be mentioned." But if the Seven Kills in the year and month pillars are clearly visible in the Heavenly Stems, this person will surely have a lot of troubles and no money. This directly indicates that their family background in childhood is very different. This is called the Seven Kills in the year pillar.

If both the monthly and annual branches are the Seven Kills, or if both the Heavenly Stems and Earthly Branches are the Seven Kills. The Seven Kills are the ones that overcome the Day Master. It's not advisable for them to overcome too closely. Just like when your child is doing homework, you shouldn't stand right next to them staring. Stand a bit farther away and just watch them do it. Well, if the Seven Kills in the month are too close to the Day Master, they will overcome the Day Master so severely that it can't lift its head. So when the positioning of the Ten Gods reaches a certain point, it will involve the issue of the strength or weakness of the Day Master. For the Day Masters Jia and Yi, when they encounter Yin and Mao, they are strong; when they encounter Shen and You, they are weak. This is another specialized topic. I'll just mention it briefly here. If the Officials and Killers overcome the Day Master too severely, have you ever seen someone who has money but doesn't know how to use it? It's just because the body (Day Master) is too weak! They have a good fate, but they don't know how to make use of it.

Well, for male horoscopes, the Day Master should be strong, while for female horoscopes, the Day Master should be weak. Since the Officer and Slayer are in command in the Month Pillar, it shows that the Day Master is weak. When the Day Master is weak, one doesn't know how to enjoy blessings. Let me give an example: In a play, we see a lady with four maids standing behind her. When the maids ask the lady about something, she doesn't know and instead asks the maids. That means one doesn't know how to enjoy blessings. So, for those with the Seven Slayer Pattern in the Month Pillar, they are oppressed by the Seven Slayer and can hardly breathe.

So what about having the Seven Killings sitting under one's own Heavenly Stem? The Seven Killings have many similarities and differences with other Ten Gods. For example, the first point just mentioned is that having the Seven Killings in the Year Pillar means a misfortune in one's early years. When one's own Heavenly Stem sits on the Seven Killings, there is a saying in fortune - telling called "the Heavenly Stem sitting on the Killing". The Day Master is the Heavenly Stem. The Seven Killings overcome the Day Master. If the Day Master has the Seven Killings sitting below it, it's like riding a tiger. One is always afraid that the tiger will bite at any time. So people with the Heavenly Stem sitting on the Killing are suspicious and always afraid that some great disaster is about to befall them. They don't believe what others say. They are very smart. This is what it means by the Heavenly Stem sitting on the Killing. For female命 (Note: "命" here might be "命主", meaning the person whose fortune is being told) with the Heavenly Stem sitting on the Killing, they are constantly suspicious and fearful towards their husbands, especially in middle - age. This is called the Heavenly Stem sitting on the Killing.

What if the Seven Kills appears in the Hour Pillar? Other configurations are sensitive to the luck cycle, but the Seven Kills configuration isn't. He's in his fifties and is fully mature. No matter what pressures come from society or the outside world, he can handle them quite naturally. So, the Seven Kills configuration should be in the Hour Pillar. If it's in the Year Pillar, it will be affected by the unfavorable family environment during your childhood. If it's in the Year or Month Pillar, it means you were frivolous in your youth. If the Day Stem sits on the Seven Kills, you'll be suspicious and distrustful of others.

If the Seven Killings at the Hourly Stem form a proper pattern, then one will be a steady - minded person and not afraid of dealing with difficult matters. If the Seven Killings are at the Hourly Branch, it's of no use.

For a male's horoscope, it's of little use because the earthly branch of the hour represents old age.

What I'm talking about now is basically mainly about men's horoscopes. Then, the "Zheng Guan" and "Qi Sha" are not mainly related to men's horoscopes but rather to women's horoscopes. When it comes to a woman's horoscope with "Qi Sha", the first criterion for this woman to choose a man is that he should make her admire him. No matter what he does, just show me two tricks. He can beat and scold me.

She likes it when people scold and beat her, and she also acts like a man. Well, it's different when the official and the killing star are combined. For a female's horoscope, when the seven - killing star and the proper official star come together, it's a special topic. Now let's talk about a simple topic. For example, when the proper official star sits on the proper official star or the seven - killing star sits on the seven - killing star in the monthly pillar, it's quite common, and this doesn't represent good fortune. When the proper official star sits on the proper official star, which means the husband star sits on the husband star, it will definitely lead to divorce. When the seven - killing star sits on the seven - killing star, the husband stars overlap. In fortune - telling, this is the most feared situation. If the official sits on the official or the killing sits on the killing, it indicates divorce. So, what about when the wealth sits on the wealth? Due to different social cultures, divorce doesn't matter much to men, and having one or two women is also okay. However, it's the most taboo thing for a female. I, from a very objective stance as a man, try to understand her feelings. What would it be like for a woman to get divorced before the age of thirty? We should also think carefully. If they can't get along but don't divorce, or if they really get divorced, the feelings of the woman herself will be different.

Therefore, women's fates are very afraid of the situation where the Direct Officer sits on the Direct Officer and the Seven Kills sits on the Seven Kills. However, although this is indeed not ideal, it is not the worst. What they really fear is when the Direct Officer sits on the Seven Kills and the Seven Kills sits on the Direct Officer. In such a situation, it's no longer just about good or bad luck, fortune or misfortune, and money. The Seven Kills and the Direct Officer represent an open husband and a secret lover respectively. Will there be any problems? That's another matter. Just because a man and a woman are in a chaotic relationship doesn't necessarily mean something will go wrong. Whether something goes wrong is another story. There are also various issues such as clashes and punishments. But in fact, among the cases I've witnessed personally, there are women who still have contacts with their boyfriends before marriage after getting married, yet nothing serious happens. If one can keep a matter completely secret or if everyone knows about it but it doesn't matter, it's her fate. We can't simply discuss it from a legal perspective. So, when the Direct Officer sits on the Seven Kills and the Seven Kills sits on the Direct Officer, it's very difficult to handle and will lead to a lot of troublesome things.

For example, if there is a proper official and a seven-kill in the Heavenly Stems, it forms a situation of mixed official and kill. In such a case, a woman may get divorced and remarry, or break up without getting married, which is obvious to everyone. Now, the theory of fortune-telling has been discussed several times. Which section are we on? One should be able to associate and understand the interchangeable use of the Heavenly Stems and Earthly Branches. What does "interchangeable use" mean? One US dollar is equivalent to thirty New Taiwan dollars, and thirty New Taiwan dollars is one US dollar. The Heavenly Stems are Jia, Yi, Bing, Ding, Wu, Ji, Geng, Xin, Ren, and Gui. Jia corresponds to Yin, and Yi corresponds to Mao. If we look at it the other way around, Yin corresponds to Jia, and Mao corresponds to Yi. Then, for a birth chart with mixed official and kill in the Heavenly Stems. For instance, if there is a mix of official and kill with Jia and Yi in the Heavenly Stems, there is also a mix of official and kill with Yin and Mao in the Earthly Branches. People can notice the situation in the Heavenly Stems, but they are unaware of it in the Earthly Branches. Well, fortune-tellers won't talk about things that people don't know. It's just that we understand there are hidden circumstances here.

So, as I just said, having the Proper Wealth at the Hour Pillar. As we've discussed in previous chapters, having the Partial Wealth at the Hour Pillar means having money in old age. But what about the situation before that? Well, for a female's Bazi, if the Hourly Branch sits on the Proper Officer or the Seven Killings, the interpretations are different. Using the same method of interpretation, she won't be lonely in her old age. When we explain it in detail, if it sits on the Proper Officer, you'll have someone very considerate. And if the Hourly Branch sits on the Seven Killings, you'll have someone you highly respect. Will she be wealthy? Whether she's rich or not isn't discussed here. There are at least some basic conditions, at least the ordinary conditions. What are the ordinary conditions? My standard isn't really a strict one. You can just take it as a reference. I'm talking about an average standard of 70,000 RMB per month. If this man is extremely wealthy, it's not related to the Wood of the East (Jia, Yi, Yin, Mao in the Five - Element theory). The high - level conditions involve the theory of Seasonal Balance. We're not discussing Seasonal Balance today. We're just talking about the Proper Officer and the Seven Killings appearing at the Hourly Branch, which means you'll have something in your old age. If there's a mixture of Officer and Killing in the Earthly Branches, others won't know, only you will. For female's Bazi, we can discuss them together because they are related to the celestial stars.

Then, if we continue to connect it upwards, it involves the relationship of generation and restraint. What does the official and killing qi generate? The saying that the official and killing qi generates the seal, and the seal generates the peer and robbery is based on a formula. If it is about a female's fate, it's different. The official and killing qi represents your husband. Your husband generates you through the seal. So, for those with the official and killing qi accompanied by the seal, your husband is very considerate to you. Well, this has nothing to do with money. It doesn't mean he gives you billions. He sweeps the floor and does the laundry for you. The official and killing qi generates the seal, and the seal generates the peer and robbery. Your husband is very considerate to you, and then the seal appears. What if there is no such seal? The official and killing qi directly restrains you, and he talks in a loud and overbearing way. In another case, the wealth generates the official and killing qi, and the official and killing qi restrains the day master. There is no seal in between, so there is no such situation of being considerate!

So, when it comes to fortune - telling, we are very afraid of the combination of wealth and killing energy. Wealth generates killing energy, and killing energy restrains the Day Master. In the language of fortune - telling, when wealth generates killing energy, it means the killing energy attacks the self. Attacking the self is equivalent to restraining the Day Master. What are the drawbacks? Let's take money as an example. When wealth generates killing energy and the killing energy attacks the self, the killing energy represents troubles. Where do these troubles come from? They come from money. That is to say, the combination of wealth and killing energy is very taboo in fortune - telling. It's not about not having money. Poor people are afraid of being short of money, while rich people are afraid of troubles. If we talk about the relationship between men and women, when wealth generates killing energy and the killing energy attacks the self, for men, wealth represents women. Women bring about troubles, and these troubles restrain the self. So, this is the situation of the combination of wealth and killing energy. That woman brings you a lot of troubles, and your money is "trouble - money".

From a woman's perspective, it's also not good. The "killing" represents your husband. In the theory of the Five - Elements, wealth generates killing, and killing attacks the self. Your husband relies on money to sustain himself. We've seen cases where the woman has to help the man. The woman has to help the man with financial arrangements, or the man takes the woman's checks. It sounds nice to say it's the fortune of assisting the husband, but this is the situation of wealth and killing, where killing attacks the self. So, the Seven - Killing is most afraid of encountering wealth, and the Wealth Pattern is also afraid of encountering the Seven - Killing.

So there are two stances in fortune - telling: One is about having money or not. Poor people go for fortune - telling. The other is about the process. For those who don't lack money and women, will it bring troubles? There are more people from the middle - class society going for fortune - telling. In fortune - telling, the rule of "wealth generating killing and killing attacking the body" in the Seven - Killing Pattern is very important. As for the mixing of official and killing in the Heavenly Stems, it depends on whether there are roots in the Earthly Branches. If there is Jia in the Heavenly Stems and Yin in the Earthly Branches, it will last for a long time. If there is no root, it won't last long. Generally speaking, the relationships between men and women in society can break up in three days or last for twenty years, and they don't necessarily have a marital relationship. It all depends on whether there is a connecting root. If there is a connecting root, it's about the duration, like the relationship between the month pillar and the hour pillar.

Well, we've talked about the sections where wealth, official rank, and seal are generally grouped together. Now, let's extend a bit. In all the past lectures, regardless of wealth, official rank, or seal, usually, we take ten million as the standard. To exceed ten million, it's not just about wealth, official rank, or seal; it depends on the balancing of the elements according to the season. For example, we all know that water restrains fire, which represents the official rank. If I'm a Bing day master and there's water in the Heavenly Stems, that's the official and the killing element. If I'm born in winter, specifically in the months of Hai or Zi, and there are Hai or Zi in the Earthly Branches, the official element is strong, and one can have ten million. To have hundreds of millions, we need to talk about the balancing of the elements according to the season. So, what exactly is the balancing of the elements according to the season? Only those with truly high - level fates talk about it. Ordinary people talk about wealth and official rank. Now, let me give you an example. For instance, if someone is born in summer, regardless of whether their Day Master is Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, or Water, can their Bazi not have water? Of course not! This is no longer a question of the five elements of Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water, nor is it a question of restraint. It's simply impossible to survive! This is an imbalance! It's simply impossible to succeed. If there is the balancing of the elements according to the season, for example, if someone with an Jia Day Master is born in winter, in winter, they definitely need the sun to shine, so they definitely need fire. If you have fire, you've achieved the balancing of the elements according to the season. This is the first point about whether there is the balancing of the elements according to the season.

Where does the second aspect of balancing the climate come from? This involves the Ten Gods. For example, as I just mentioned, for those with Bing as the Day Master, water represents the husband. Those that overcome me are the husband. If you were born in summer, you definitely need water. If you were born in spring or winter, water still represents the husband. In that case, you may have at most ten million. However, if you were born in summer, and water is not only your husband but also the element for balancing the climate, then you can have more than tens of millions! Let me repeat. Here, it is related to hundreds of millions or tens of millions, and it applies to both men and women. If you were born in summer or winter, in summer you must use water, and in winter you must have fire. This is about balancing the climate. As for whether fire is your Direct Officer, Seven Killings, Eating God, or Hurting Officer, that's another matter. If it happens to be your husband or your Husband Star, then your benefits come from your husband.

So there's a saying in fortune-telling, which goes, "When metal is cold and water is clear, one needs Bing and Ding." That is to say, if a person with the Day Master of metal is born in winter, it's so cold! Then there should be Bing and Ding in your Bazi. This Bing and Ding represent your husband. So once we talk about a woman's Bazi in fortune-telling, it's not just about asking whether your husband is rich or not. Being rich doesn't necessarily mean being happy. It has to be both rich and harmonious. When all kinds of conditions are combined, it must involve the element of "adjusting the climate". Well, for a woman, if you want to marry a good husband, if your standard for an ordinary person is only ten million, it's okay as long as the Wealth and Officer Stars are in their favorable positions. If it's more than ten million, then it requires the element of "adjusting the climate".

Then you just keep asking. Can money guarantee a good relationship? Here, there's one point that not everyone may agree on. The outlooks on life of a wealthy couple are different from those of an ordinary couple. Let me give an example. Every woman dislikes her husband having other women outside. Can an emperor do that? Yes, he can. Because his status is extremely high. So in fortune - telling, the fortunes of common people, officials, and dukes are calculated differently. An ordinary commoner has one wife. A county magistrate doesn't follow this; he has one wife and one concubine. A provincial governor has one wife and two concubines. Concubines represent status, not lust.

So, when it comes to fortune - telling, we need to distinguish among people. When fortune - telling for those with high - fated lives who have the right balance of elements (Tiao Hou), even if something unusual happens to the fortune - teller, which is not what we usually talk about in normal situations, she still considers it normal. Then, they can get along peacefully. Not everyone agrees with what I'm saying, but in the overall context of fortune - telling, it still works. So, we must talk about the balance of elements (Tiao Hou). Sometimes, I also ask people, especially my students. Which is better, working hard to achieve something or getting something without effort? You work hard to earn ten million, while others casually make thirty million. Which one is better? It depends on personal views! So, when it comes to high - fated lives, the balance of elements (Tiao Hou) is essential. Do you all have any insights? It's most obvious for those born in summer and winter. They need to have the right timing. For example, if you don't like a pot of orchids, it's not even worth a hundred dollars. But if you like it, it can be sold for five hundred thousand dollars. This is about having the right timing and the balance of elements (Tiao Hou)!

Then I'll combine the two classes on the Direct Officer and the Seven Kills. Initially, I'll talk about a female's horoscope. If we were to seriously discuss a female's horoscope, it would be much more complicated. We'll leave that until after we've covered the Eating God and the Hurting Officer. For example, what do we mean by "complicated"? Divorce, a bad marriage. Is it a divorce or a bereavement? You talk about bigamy. Does it mean getting married twice or five times? If it's five times, are the five men in the same status? This gets into the details. It's all about the female's horoscope. We've also seen cases where a couple gets back together after a divorce. Some, once divorced, never see each other again. So there are a lot of details in this. So when it comes to asking about one's fortune, if someone just asks whether your husband is rich or not, it's simple. But if someone asks for details, it gets very complicated. Well, some people only care about having money. For some, having money may not be enough. These are the details. In the end, it all comes down to the prosperity and decline of the Five Elements and their interactions of generation and restraint.

Then there are still two details left, namely the "God of Cookery" and the "Hurting Officer", which will be discussed in the next section.
