The most common symbolism of Pi Tou concerns family, elders, and worries involving relatives. It can suggest more family responsibilities, caregiving pressure, health concerns, or difficult family circumstances, but it should not be equated directly with bereavement.

Pi Tou also carries symbolism of worry, sadness, and emotional burden. When other stressful chart factors are active at the same time, a person may feel more affected by family matters or ongoing concerns.

Traditional BaZi often uses Pi Tou to observe temporary periods of family-related difficulty. When the corresponding branch appears in a luck cycle or annual influence, family, relatives, and health-related matters may deserve more attention.
