Heavenly Turn Interpretation
Concentrated Elemental Strength
Each Heavenly Turn Day Pillar aligns its stem and branch with the season's dominant element: Yi-Mao with spring Wood, Bing-Wu with summer Fire, Xin-You with autumn Metal, and Ren-Zi with winter Water.
Reversal After a Peak
The idea of “turn” comes from strength reaching an extreme and then changing direction. In practice, the marker is better read as a symbol of shifts, volatility, or conditions changing after a peak rather than as one specific negative event.
Difference from Earth Turn
Earth Turn uses the same seasonal branches Mao, Wu, You, and Zi, but its logic centers on the Day Pillar's Na Yin matching the season's dominant element. Heavenly Turn instead uses a Day Stem and Day Branch that are themselves aligned with the seasonal element.

Classical descriptions of Heavenly and Earth Turn can be severe, but this marker should not be used alone to predict early death, accidents, or career failure. Read it together with the Ten Gods, elemental balance, luck cycles, and annual influences.

The complete Day Pillar must match. Seeing only Yi, Mao, or even Yi-Mao elsewhere in the chart does not establish Heavenly Turn.
Because this rule is defined by the Day Pillar itself, there is no separate Year, Month, Day, or Hour Pillar placement interpretation.
