Abandon One's Life to Follow the Fiend

《独步》云：弃命从煞，须要会煞从财，忌煞从煞。盖言从煞格，以煞神太重，身无所归，不得已从之，要行煞旺及财乡，四柱无一点比肩印绶方论，如遇运扶身旺，与煞为敌，从煞不专，故为祸患。经云：弃命从煞论刚柔。言弃天乾从地支，随五行性情，阴乾从地支，煞纯者多贵，以阴柔能从物也。阳乾从地支，煞纯者亦贵，但次于阴，以阳不受制也。水火金土皆从，惟阳木不能从，死木受斧斤，反遭其伤故也。《元理赋》云：平生为富且贵，皆因煞重身柔。鬼多无鬼，反不为凶。
古歌曰：
五阳坐日全逢煞，弃命相从寿不坚，如是五阴逢此地，身衰煞旺吉堪言。
Interpretation
"Walking Alone" says: When one abandons one's own element to follow the killing qi, one must ensure that the killing qi follows the wealth qi and avoid having the killing qi stand alone. It means that in the pattern of following the killing qi, since the killing qi is extremely strong and the self has no place to rely on, one has to follow it. One should have the prosperous killing qi and the wealth aspect in the fortune. Only when there is not a single point of peer element or seal element in the four pillars can this pattern be considered. If one encounters a fortune that supports the strength of the self, making the self confront the killing qi, then the pattern of following the killing qi is not pure, and thus it will bring disasters. The classic says: When discussing the pattern of abandoning one's own element to follow the killing qi, one should consider the nature of hardness and softness. It means abandoning the heavenly stem to follow the earthly branch, following the nature of the five - elements. When the yin heavenly stem follows the earthly branch, if the killing qi is pure, one is often noble, because the yin is soft and can follow other things. When the yang heavenly stem follows the earthly branch, if the killing qi is pure, one is also noble, but less so than those with yin, because the yang does not accept restraint. All elements of water, fire, metal, and earth can follow, only the yang wood cannot follow. Just like a dead tree being chopped by an axe, it will be harmed instead. The "Yuanli Fu" says: One is wealthy and noble throughout life because the killing qi is strong and the self is weak. When there is too much ghost qi (killing qi), it is as if there is no ghost qi, and it is not considered inauspicious.
An ancient song says:
When a person with the five Yang elements sitting on the day pillar meets all the malevolent stars, they abandon their own fate and follow the strong force, and their lifespan will not be long. If it is the five Yin elements in such a situation, with a weak body and a strong malevolent force, good fortune can be spoken of.
