夫太岁者，乃一岁之主宰，诸神之领袖。其说有二：如四柱中生年曰当生太岁，如逐年轮转曰游行太岁。当生太岁乃终身之主，其理已论于前；其逐年太岁游行十二宫，定一年之祸福，为四时之吉凶。盖太岁如君也，大运如臣也。如君臣和悦，其年则吉；若值刑战，其年则凶。经运：岁伤日干，有祸必轻；日犯岁君，灾殃必重。此又分言：岁君伤日者，如庚年克甲日为偏官，譬君治臣，父治子，虽有灾晦，不为大害，何则？上治其下，顺也，其情尚未尽绝；日犯岁君，如甲日克戊年为偏财，譬臣其君，子其父，深为不利，何则？下凌上，逆也，其凶决不能免。若五行有救，四柱有情，如甲日克戊年，四柱原有庚申金，或大运中，亦有将甲木制伏纯粹。不能克戊土为有救；如大运并四柱有一癸字与戊相合为有情。经云：壬以癸妹配戊，凶为吉兆。
又有真太岁、徵太岁之说。经云：生时相逢真太岁。假如甲子生人又见甲子年，谓之真太岁，又名转趾煞，要大运日主与太岁相和相顺，其年则吉；若值刑冲破害，与太岁互相战克则凶。如癸已日逢丁亥流年；日干支冲克太岁曰征，运乾支伤冲太岁亦曰征，太岁干支冲日干支亦曰征，其年则凶，灾祸未免。又如甲子流年又是甲子运，谓之岁运并临，独羊刃、七煞为凶，财、官、印绶亦吉。又如甲子日见甲子太岁，谓之日年相并，如君子得之，谓之君臣处会，其年利奏对，有面君之喜，若当省士人得之，有登荐仕进之象，又要与岁君帝座和协，方为奇特；若是常俗小人遇之，最为不善，若生时相和，为灾稍轻。故经云：太岁当头立，诸神不敢当，若无官事扰，定主见重丧。此之谓与！更加以勾林、元亡、咸池、孤苦、宅墓、病死、官符、丧吊、白虎、羊刃、暴败、天厄诸凶煞并临，祸患百出，甚者死。
假如甲日见戊年太岁，甲又生寅卯亥未，年月日时又重见甲乙字并克，戊年柱中无庚辛已酉丑金局制木，丙丁火局焚木者，太凶。如一命戊辰、戊午、戊戌、甲寅，羊刃倒戈，遇壬申年四月，项生恶疮，头将堕死；又一命乙丑、乙亥、壬申、乙已，运行辛未、丙寅，日干之壬克太岁之丙，日支之庚申克太岁之寅甲，又寅刑已，已刑申，刑寅，行辛未运，合太岁之木局伤官，皆不为吉，其年甲午火旺战克，故死非命。
大抵日犯岁君，在五阳乾则重，在五阴乾则轻，若日干是天月德。太岁是用神则无咎，而反有获；天冲地击，柱中原有，流年再遇，亦无大咎；若太岁克当生时，或时克太岁，亦主有灾，却以子位断之。

It is like a king governing a minister or a father governing a son. Although there may be some misfortunes, it is not a great harm. Why? There are also the theories of the "true Tai Sui" and the "conflicting Tai Sui". The classic says: "One meets the true Tai Sui at the time of birth." For example, if a person was born in the year of Jiazi and then encounters another Jiazi year, it is called the true Tai Sui, also known as the "turning-toe evil". It is necessary that the grand luck, the heavenly stem and earthly branch of the day master, be in harmony and conformity with the Tai Sui. When the heavenly stem and earthly branch of the grand luck harm and clash with the Tai Sui, it is also called "conflicting". When the heavenly stem and earthly branch of the Tai Sui clash with those of the day, it is also called "conflicting". In that year, it will be inauspicious and disasters are inevitable. Another situation is when the Jiazi flowing year coincides with the Jiazi grand luck, which is called "the year and the grand luck come together". Only when the Yang Ren and the Seven Kills are involved is it inauspicious. If it involves wealth, official positions, and seal ribbons, it is also auspicious. For example, when a person with a Jiazi day meets the Jiazi Tai Sui, it is called "the day and the year are in parallel". If a gentleman encounters this, it is called "the monarch and the minister meet". In that year, it is beneficial for him to present memorials to the emperor, and he will have the joy of seeing the emperor face - to - face. If a provincial scholar encounters this, there will be signs of being recommended for official positions. Moreover, it is necessary to be in harmony with the seat of the year lord for it to be truly remarkable. If an ordinary vulgar person encounters this, it is extremely unfavorable. If there is harmony at the time of birth, the disasters will be slightly less severe. Therefore, the classic says: "When the Tai Sui stands right in front, no other gods dare to oppose. If there are no official troubles, there will surely be a major bereavement." This is what it means! If, in addition, the evil stars such as Gou Lin, Yuan Wang, Xian Chi, Gu Ku, Zhai Mu, Bing Si, Guan Fu, Sang Diao, Bai Hu, Yang Ren, Bao Bai, Tian E and other fierce evil stars come together, there will be all kinds of disasters, and in the worst - case scenario, death will occur.
Suppose someone born in the year of the Earth Dog (Wu) sees the Tai Sui of the year corresponding to the Wood Tiger (Jia). If there are already conflicts between the heavenly stems and earthly branches in the original birth chart, and the same conflicts occur again in the current year, there will also be no major misfortune. If the annual stem restrains the hour stem at birth, or the hour stem restrains the annual stem, it also indicates misfortune, and the situation should be judged according to the position of the child (in the earthly branches).
