夫正偏自处者何也？乃夫妇相合，复遇比肩分争，如一位夫星有两位妻星相合，谓之争合。若本身自旺，彼身值衰，四柱不冲，则我正而彼偏矣。盖我生旺有气，则夫从我为正；我身衰而别位旺，则夫从别位，我反为偏，谓之彼旺争去我夫，我只得为偏。或自旺太过，柱无夫星者亦为偏；或官煞混杂，或伤官太重，亦为偏，更淫滥。如一命：壬子、丙午、辛酉、辛卯，辛用丙为夫星，我坐酉支，专禄自旺，虽时引辛卯之金，彼却无力，故我为正而彼为偏，此为二女争夫，正偏自处。又：癸未、壬戌、癸巳、壬子，癸用土为夫，癸巳水弱；壬子水旺，弱不能胜旺，被壬水争去戊土为正夫，乃彼胜我衰，我只得为偏。但壬水重而太泛，又带桃花，不能自处。馀仿此推。
Interpretation
What does it mean for a woman to be in a position of either the principal or the secondary wife? It is like a situation where a husband and wife are united, but then a rival comes in. For example, when there is one husband star and two wife stars in conjunction, it is called "rival conjunction". If a woman herself is in a strong position in the Bazi (Four Pillars of Destiny), while the other woman is in a weak position, and there are no conflicts in the four pillars, then she is the principal wife and the other is the secondary wife. Or if there is a mixture of official and seven - kill stars, or the damage - officer star is too strong, she will also be in a secondary position and may even be promiscuous. For example, in a Bazi: Renzi, Bingwu, Xinyou, Xinmao. Xin uses Bing as the husband star. The Xin sits on the You branch, which means it has its own strong energy. Although there is Xinmao's metal at the hour pillar, it is weak. So, this woman is the principal wife and the other is the secondary wife. This is a case of two women competing for a husband, and the principal and secondary positions are determined. Another example: Guiwei, Rengxu, Guisi, Renzi. Gui uses earth as the husband star. The water in Guisi is weak, while the water in Renzi is strong. The weak one cannot compete with the strong one. So, the Ren water takes away the Wutu as the principal husband. It is a situation where the other woman wins and she is weak, so she can only be the secondary wife. However, the Ren water is too excessive and also associated with the peach - blossom star, so she cannot handle the situation well. The rest can be deduced in the same way.
