Moistening and Descending

Original Text

Interpretation

If there are the combinations of Shen, Zi, and Chen in the Bazi on Ren or Gui days, it is taboo to have the earthly branches of Mao or Si, which represent the state of death and decline, and the places of the three - punishments and four - conflicts. When in the state of death and decline, the water (representing the element in Bazi theory) will not flow smoothly; when there are conflicts and punishments, the water will flow turbulently. The same principle applies to the annual and monthly luck cycles. Some say that if the water element is too abundant, there should be one or two earth elements in the Bazi to control it, so as to form a dike. However, once there is earth, it is inauspicious if there is a combination of wood elements. If the wood damages the earth, the metal element (representing the seal in Bazi theory) is needed for rescue. Overall, one's life will be full of ups and downs. The favorable luck direction is the west, while the southeast is not suitable.

The poem says:

When the Ren and Gui days meet the combination of Shen, Zi, and Chen, the pattern named "Moistening and Flowing Down" is truly valid. It must have Si, Wu, Chen, and Xu, and when there is the character Shen, the nobility will be peerless.

Moreover:

Those born in winter with Tianqian Ren and Gui are fortunate. If it coincides with the formation of the meeting situation of Shen and Chen, or if all elements belong to the combination of Hai, Zi, and Chou, they can easily rise to high positions.
