四柱元无财官印绶，却有破官之辰，如癸卯日破出午中己土为官，癸酉日破出辰中戊土为官，甲午日破出酉中辛金为官，柱中须得一字三合合住贵气为妙。《元理赋》云：卯破午，午破酉，财官双美。又云：年日支无破官之辰，月时支有破官合官之辰，主贵。如甲寅日无破，月逢丙午，时临己巳，此取午破酉中辛官，有巳合之，又用巳中丙戊合辛，为贵。

诗曰：

卯破午未有大官，午未破酉一般看，丑破巳午不为例，子破卯辰用不难。

Interpretation

If there is no wealth, official, or seal element in the four pillars of the Bazi, but there are elements that break the official position, for example, on the day of Guimao, it breaks out the Jitu in Wu as the official; on the day of Guijiu, it breaks out the Wutu in Chen as the official; on the day of Jiawu, it breaks out the Xinjin in You as the official. It is better to have one character in the pillar to form a three - combination to hold the noble qi. "Yuanli Fu" says: Mao breaks Wu, and Wu breaks You, which brings both wealth and official positions. It also says: If there is no element that breaks the official position in the year and day branches, but there are elements that break and combine the official position in the month and hour branches, it indicates nobility. For example, on the day of Jiayin, there is no element that breaks the official position. If the month meets Bingwu and the hour is Jisi, here, it uses Wu to break the Xin official in You, and there is Si to combine it. Also, it uses Bing and Wu in Si to combine with Xin, which indicates nobility.

The poem goes:

If the sign of the Rabbit (Mao) breaks through the signs of the Horse (Wu) and the Goat (Wei), there will be high - ranking officials. When the Horse (Wu) and the Goat (Wei) break through the Rooster (You), it's judged in a general way. When the Ox (Chou) breaks through the Snake (Si) and the Horse (Wu), it's not an established rule. When the Rat (Zi) breaks through the Rabbit (Mao) and the Dragon (Chen), it's not difficult to apply.
