Pure Gold and Clear Water

赋云：金白水清，此辈宜登科第。此象乃庚申、辛酉日生秋月令，引到时上遇亥子水乡，以金则白，以水则清，无刑冲破害，主富厚。切忌夏生，则不入格，春金二三月，运行西北亦可。如庚辰、庚子、癸巳、癸酉、癸丑等日，生秋冬月令，无火伤，无土制，见金水相停成局，亦是。

诗曰：

金清水白主荣贵，秀丽文章定出群，更无火土来刑制，声誉掀腾翰苑人。

Interpretation

The verse says: "When metal is pure and water is clear, such people should pass the imperial examinations." This phenomenon refers to those born on the Gengshen or Xinyou days in the autumn season. When the time pillar meets the waters of the Hai or Zi branches, the metal is pure (white) and the water is clear. Without any punishment, clash, break, or harm, it indicates wealth and prosperity. It is strictly forbidden to be born in summer, as it does not meet the criteria. For those born in spring (February and March), if their fortune runs towards the northwest, it is also acceptable. For example, those born on days like Gengchen, Gengzi, Guisi, Jiugui, or Guichou in the autumn or winter seasons, without being damaged by fire or restricted by earth, and with a balanced combination of metal and water, also meet this condition.

The poem goes:

When metal is clear and water is pure, it indicates honor and nobility. With elegant and beautiful literary talent, one is surely outstanding. If there is no interference from fire and earth, one will gain great fame and become a distinguished figure in the literary world.
