Six Yin and Rising Yang
Original Text
Interpretation
The "Chapter on Preferences and Aversions" states: For those born on a day of the sixth Xin (in the sexagenary cycle), if the hour is Wuzhi, the Wu position is disliked, and the Western direction is favorable in terms of fortune. In this pattern, the sixth Xin day is the main factor. For Xin, Bing serves as the official star, and Gui as the longevity star. The Wuzhi hour is preferred because Wu combines with Gui, and Zi is the birthplace of Xin. The prosperous position of Wu is at Si. Wu acts as a seal for Xin. Wu is the son of Bing. When Bing sees Wu sealing Xin, Bing gives birth to Wu which combines with Xin, making it a noble situation, as Xin on this day obtains the official star. In the birth chart, there should only be one Zi character; having more will not make it work. It's feared that Wu may clash with it and Chou may entangle it, preventing the Yin from facing the Yang. If Bing and Si fill the relevant positions, it's favorable to have the fortune in the Western direction where metal is prosperous. The Northeast, where wealth is damaged, is less favorable, and the South, where it means death and extinction, is to be avoided. This pattern is only suitable for those born in the months of Shen, Chen, Hai, Mao, Wei, and You. If born in the four seasons, it is regarded as a case of seal support. In the months of Bingwu, Bingyin, and Bingxu, it is regarded in terms of wealth and official positions. In the months of Jiayin and Yimao, it is only regarded in terms of wealth. The month branch is the key, and the fortune movement is not restricted by the North - South direction. It's best to have a strong self - element. If this pattern is formed, one is often more famous than wealthy, is high - minded, and may harm one's wife and children. If the above - mentioned taboos are violated, one will be poor. The secret formula says: For Xin born at the Zi hour, the Fire direction in fortune is to be avoided. Going to the Northwest is auspicious, while going to the Southeast brings worry and misfortune.
An old song says:
Fortunate to encounter the Wuzhi year named Chaoyang, the luck favors the western direction and the official position brings prosperity. If Chou, Wu, Bing, and Ding don't appear, one will wear gold belts and purple robes and enter the court.
Moreover:
If one is born on a Xin day at a time when it meets Wuzhi, the presence of Wu activates Bing to serve as an official star for Xin. When the six - yin metal combines in the Chaoyang pattern, it's not difficult to lay the foundation for wealth and honor. There should only be one Zhiyin in the earthly branches. If it is connected with Chou, the fortune will be meager. If there are no signs of Bing, Ding, Si, or Wu, when the luck moves towards the Western direction, the benefits will be extraordinary.
Moreover:
When the favorable fortune in the morning sun is in the west, it also brings good luck when one reaches the east. One should most fear the north, as it often brings bad luck. If the south (associated with the Li trigram in the I Ching) is disrupted, it indicates misfortune and disaster.
