The Correct Official of the Annual Virtue
Original Text
Interpretation
Take the Heavenly Stem and Earthly Branch official of the year as the Annual Virtue. Its auspiciousness or inauspiciousness is judged in the same way as the Direct Official of the month. Those who encounter this must be born into an official family or inherit the position of their grandfather. If the month falls within the scope of wealth and official positions, and the fortune moves towards the prosperous areas of wealth and official positions, and the Day Master is strong, there is no doubt about their nobility. Whenever there is an official on the Heavenly Stem of the year, the blessings are the greatest, and they will surely achieve success early. For example, in the case of Guiyou, Gengshen, Bingzi, Bingshen, there is an official star in the year, and there is an official combination in the pillars, and the Qi converges to the Day Master. Bing restrains the gold of Shen and You, which means both wealth and official positions are excellent. With two Bing making the Day Master strong, when the fortune reaches Wuwu in the seventeenth or eighteenth year, although Wu clashes with Zi, Shen and Zi form a combination, so the clash cannot disrupt it. The Day Master is also strong, and they pass the imperial examination and achieve success early. An ancient poem says: "The direct salary in the year is the root, which must indicate being born into a wealthy and noble family. It is auspicious if the fortune meets the prosperous area of the Day Master, and with the support of wealth and seal, the blessings are boundless." Another poem says: "The official star in the year is the Annual Virtue. It is auspicious to meet with prosperous wealth and seal in the palace of the Day Master. Without encountering the Seven Killings or the Partial Official position, the wealth and honor are unparalleled."
