Abandon Life for Wealth

《独步》云：弃命从财，须要会财，若逢根气，命损无猜。假如丁生酉月，柱多庚辛，日乾无气，只得弃命相从，运入北方财官旺地，乃为入格，南行灾。古歌云：日乾无气满盘财，弃命相从是福胎，运旺财官皆皆福贵，如逢根助反为灾。

Interpretation

"Walking Alone" says: When one abandons one's life to follow wealth, one must have an aggregation of wealth in the Bazi. If there is the root qi (of the Day Stem), there is no doubt that one's life will be damaged. For example, if a person is born in the You month (the eighth month in the lunar calendar) with the Day Stem being Ding, and there are many Geng and Xin in the Bazi, and the Day Stem lacks qi, then one has to abandon one's life and follow the situation. If the luck cycle enters the prosperous area of wealth and official in the north direction, it is considered to enter the pattern. If one moves south, there will be disasters. An ancient poem says: When the Day Stem lacks qi and the entire Bazi is full of wealth, abandoning one's life to follow it is the root of fortune. When the luck cycle is prosperous in wealth and official, one will enjoy both fortune and honor. If there is the support of the root, it will instead bring disasters.
