Grave Fiend
Original Text
Interpretation
An ancient song says: "When you encounter a ghost in the tomb, you should know it. If the inauspicious energy surrounds the grave, the family will be separated. Once you are affected by this evil star, there is no salvation. Those born under this influence will lose their fortune and longevity in their youth." For example, on a day of Jia, if one sees Gengxu or Gengchen; on a day of Yi, if one sees Xinchou or Xinwei; on a day of Bing, if one sees Renchen or Renxu; on a day of Ding, if one sees Guichou or Guiwei; on a day of Wu, if one sees Jiachen or Jiaxu; on a day of Ji, if one sees Yichou or Yiwei; on a day of Geng, if one sees Bingchen or Bingxu; on a day of Xin, if one sees Dingchou or Dingwei; on a day of Ren, if one sees Wuchen or Wuxu; on a day of Gui, if one sees Jichou or Jivei. This is called the "Seven Inauspicious Energies Entering the Tomb". As "The Record of Luo" says: "When the inauspicious energy surrounds the grave, relatives and friends will cry at the funeral." For example, in the combination of Jisi, Wuchen, Guichou, and Bingchen, on a day of Gui, Wu is the official energy and Ji is the inauspicious energy. Both Wu and Ji are in Chen, which is also the water reservoir for Gui. This often leads to early success and early death. Some say that the inauspicious energy is not limited to the Seven Inauspicious Energies. It also includes the Ominous Blade, the Energy of Loss, and the Energy of Robbery. If they are hidden in the tomb in combination with the hour of birth or the day and month, all are inauspicious.
