Mixture of Fire and Earth

Original Text

Interpretation

When fire meets earth, it becomes dim; when earth holds fire, it becomes obscure. Therefore, it is best for fire to be fire and earth to be earth, without mutual interference. If fire and earth are mixed, it indicates stupidity and muddiness. As the classic says, "What's the use of a weak fire and a gathered earth? It surely means a person who drudges in the dust." For example: the year, month, day and hour being Wushen, Jiwei, Bingwu, and Yiwei; Gengxu, Yichou, Bingchen, and Wuxu; Wuxu, Dingsi, Jiwei, and Bingyin. In all these three cases of the eight - character birth charts, fire and earth are mixed, indicating an ordinary life.
